Always and Forever … In the silence (by Paul Mulliner)

When the timeless ocean
returns all the light
borrowed by our life
to everything that is
we say goodbye to all we love
and have to leave behind,
to all we knew and didn’t know,
and all those times
we thought would never end,
those days we thought
we’d always have
another day.
The infinite
becomes human
for the brief duration of a life,
and travelers of the inner path
might sometimes see it linger
with the sentient eye
of a silent heart,
and through all the tiny moments
of a human life,
like when the patter of rain
in the early morning light
reveals the silence underneath
the surface of the everyday,
the knowing that can’t be said,
the unwritten poetry
blended through
the conscious fabric of our world.
We bring something to this life
that only we could bring,
a gift from the unseen
that only we could give,
and it’s only given now
while now exists,
and joins
with all the fleeting beauty
of the moment,
woven through the light
becoming life,
always and for ever.
